Developed by Microsoft Research, this program takes a series of overlapping photographs and effortlessly stitches them into one continuous, high-quality image.

In 2021 the Image Composite Editor project was retired and the software was no longer available for download from Microsoft [2] though it can be found on various other sources such as Internet Archive.

Microsoft Research created a tool called ICE for automatically stitching together many pictures into a panorama / composite. It is no longer available from Microsoft, but here are backed up copies for download:
